There are plenty of parking spots near the entrance, and it is wheelchair-friendly. The cafe offers a great selection of snacks, including fantastic bacon butties. The staff is friendly and helpful. The outdoor dining area has many tables and chairs, and the toilet facilities are clean. Overall, it is definitely worth a visit and you won't be disappointed.
On the way to the south coast it was not better. parking was plentiful (also on a sunny half-time Saturday) the toilets were clean and close to the parking lot. the caffe served a lot of warm and cold eating (dresses, sandwiches, cakes and coffee) for a light meal, all to cheap trips. the view from the café terrace is a cross that is excellent. the gift shop is good storage and cheap and the reserves themselves are managed wonderfully. we had a 70-minute walk around the reserve, held on two fences and a manageable platform. saw a full of meadow and wetland birds (including a very friendly liedurre.) other visitors are friendly (twitches are always beautiful people.) our children lived in the recently repaired play zone, near the nod benches. we are RSPB members, so this was all free except the delicious pasty, of course.
I love the trails and the staff is very helpful. Perfect for the whole family. The picnic area with tables and a children's playground is lovely. The trails are great for bird watching, just make sure to bring your binoculars.
This restaurant has the best views of Nightingales that I have ever seen. I have spotted a few and heard many more. There are also the usual summer migrants that provide great birdwatching opportunities. The main building has been beautifully rebuilt and exudes a unique charm. The café serves exceptional breakfast and lunch options, including the best vegan sausage bap I have ever had at any nature reserve. There is also a hide where you can take photos of birds, such as a Sedge Warbler.
Very friendly and helpful staff. beautiful business and large heathland walks including an iron time continuing with information boards. highly recommended.
