Contribuiți la feedbackThai takeaway has to be one of the most sought after treats these days, and for good reason. The fragrant food is usually light and tasty and there’s plenty of variety too. Absolute Thai is no exception. Our biggest problem is that we tend to over order. We did it again this time too! We started with money bags. We always order these crispy balls of flavour. The pastry envelopes the chicken and prawn filling perfectly and it’s a nice crunchy start to a Thai meal.
Their new restaurant at William St hornsby is beautiful. The ambience is beautiful with the food being equally great. I have tried the massaman curry, sizzling lamb with chilli jam, green curry fired rice, crispy pork belly with chilli jam.<br/ <br/ The food is great, the staff attentive and prompt.
The food is good and the price reasonable. The portions are pretty huge, even from the kids menu. Also they were playing only chuck berry songs the day I was there so liked the music and ambience too!!
Great little casual Thai spot on the 'milk bar ' side of Hornsby. Close to the station, this nook is charmingly decorated with warm ambient lighting and those trendy subway tiles, giving it a more hipster vibe than many local places. The food was affordable and very tasty, with staples like pad thai $12.90), green curry $14.90) and papaya salad $12.90) done perfectly. The coconut juice was also a bargain at a measly 2 bucks, and I can also reach recommend the thai prawn crackers. Service was polite and I liked that it wasn 't packed out must be a lesser known venue for now!
This was our first time to Absolute Thai on William Street and we enjoyed it. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed it was a lot bigger than we expected, with cute triangular Thai cushions as a seating option along the windows. Plenty of natural light filled the restaurant. For entrees, we shared the Mixed Entree Platter. It was nicely presented and looked very appetising. There were 2 x chicken skewers, a curry puff, a spring roll and money bag with a side of dips and sauces. Everything was delicious although the money bag was my favourite. This is a great way to sample some starters if you’re unsure what to order as a starter. I felt this was very fairly priced and the serve was generous. It was off to a very positive start! For mains, we shared the Lamb Shank Massaman Curry and a Prawn Pad Thai with a side of rice for the curry. The serving sizes for the curry and Pad Thai were very generous and fairly priced. We had leftover curry and Pad Thai to take home as we weren’t feeling too hungry on the evening. The curry was almost perfect as the mash potato lacked a bit of flavour and the curry sauce was a little watered down and could have been a bit more flavoursome. I really enjoyed the Pad Thai though. Nothing to fault there. The service was attentive and our orders came reasonably quickly. The restaurant started to fill up more after we arrived which was a great sign. I think Absolute Thai is easily a neighbourhood gem for this quiet area in Hornsby. It’s even more worthwhile with 30% off via TheFork!
