Mr. B's 15th Street Cafe - Hopewell

Mr. B’s restaurant may offer delicious food, but the way he treats his staff is incredibly unacceptable. He recruits employees directly from Riverside Regional Jail and pays them only the minimum wage, forcing them to work over 40 hours a week regularly. Throughout the day, he is excessively critical, often rude, and abrasive. When it comes time for payday, he underreports their hours and issues checks that bounce, leaving his hardworking employees in difficult financial situations. Mr. B exemplifies a modern-day exploitative employer, profiting from the hardships of others. Well done, Mr. B!

I just had to share my thoughts on the outstanding food and service at Mr. B's. The dishes are neither greasy nor heavy; instead, they are perfectly seasoned and well-balanced. Additionally, the staff provides a generous dose of southern hospitality, always friendly and professional. On weeknights, they offer an All You Can Eat special with wonderfully generous portions of fish, ribs, chicken, and shrimp. Why settle for a burger when you can enjoy a healthy, delicious, home-style southern meal at such a great price? Mr. B, you truly embody the essence of southern cooking. It's love from the heart!

This was my second visit to Mr. B's, and I enjoyed the food just as much as the first time. However, today I experienced something beyond just a good meal... an EARTHQUAKE! The delicious food combined with such a memorable moment with my partner made it priceless. The menu included all-you-can-eat chicken wings, mac and cheese, string beans, candied yams, and cornbread. It was a full, satisfying experience!

I've visited Mr. B's several times, and I have to admit that when I first arrived in the parking lot, I wasn't expecting much. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The charming little restaurant is filled with jazz music and has a tasteful decor. The staff is friendly and professional, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The food is reminiscent of the comforting meals your grandmother or mother would make—truly a taste of home-cooked goodness. I highly recommend the baked chicken, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese; they are all delicious! Additionally, I must mention that the pineapple coconut cake I had on Mother's Day was delightful.

Mr. B's 15th Street Cafe is absolutely outstanding. The food is excellent, the restaurant is clean, and the hospitality is warm and welcoming! You will be very satisfied!
