Contribuiți la feedbackHad a lovely stay here, great motorhome pitch, great to have a bar on site, close to bus for trips to Weymouth or further afield. Highly recommend Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view
We spent 6 nights at East Fleet and there were many positives to our stay but sadly a few things let it down. The welcome was amazing really lovely staff who went above and beyond. I liked the maps and little welcome pack. The addition of free WiFi was also good to see. On arrival at our pitch we were surprised to find it was on a Slope. This wasn't a major problem apart from the fact we had to sleep differently to how we normally would otherwise our feet were up and we got acid reflux We opted for an electric pitch which also had a water tap which was super handy. On our first night there was a hog roast in the barn with live music playing. The hog roast was lovely but at £8 a head for a hog roast bap was a tad steep but we enjoyed it nonetheless. The bar was good and I liked the reusable plastic cups which you could return for £1 or reuse. Whilst we were there (late aug) the barn was open Fri/Sat and Mon. There is also a bar/restaurant on site but we didn't use it during our stay. There's also a large shop on site which has fresh and frozen foods and pantry items. It also has various pet items which is useful if you've forgotten anything. Various camping items and also local bits and bobs to take home. On our first morning we managed to get a shower in one of the large cubicles (has a toilet, shower and sink) which was great for my daughter and I. This was one of only 2 times we managed this bearing in mind we were showering twice a day due to being covered in sand! These cubicles are great for families but were being used by everyone meaning that they were constantly full. The shower only cubicles however were always free but a very tight squeeze for my daughter and I. The location is ideal for its proximity to shops and takeaways. However, we had to drive much more than we were expecting. We had chosen the sight due to the bay leading over to chisel beach which we had intend to do daily using our paddle boards however its very shallow meaning we couldn't put on the main fin and also you get filthy going into and coming out of the bay as its almost clay like when the tide goes out. Luckily its not too far from West Bay and Weymouth and if you travel a little further you also have Charmouth, Lyme Regis and Portland Bill all of which we visited. We would fully recommend West Bay for easy fossil hunting that you can take home and Lyme Regis to see larger fossils which you won't be able to take home but are amazing to see The major con for this site was the noise and traffic. People were driving much faster than I would have expected on a site with a lot of children and families. The older children were also completely out of hand playing and running around screaming until midnight almost every night. They also were playing light tag with escooters which wasn't ideal as the lights were flashing into the tent constantly. I had a child and a young dog both of which were awoken constantly. I didn't note any quiet times being exercised on the site which would have been good. All in all a great site but for us the location just wasn't quite right.
Was ok! not as good as we were expecting for the children though. The kids park area could do with an update, we were also expecting a games barn for children to be open seems it's no longer a thing. No food vans at all on site anymore, like I'd previously seen on a YouTube videos. The staff that we delt with were all brilliant and the pitchs on the stable field were large and well situated and tidy. After asking it seems Away resorts have taken it over after the dates of the videos I had seen and done away with alot of what made it look appealing. The lane leading down to the site isn't ideal for an 8ft wide caravan narrow with no proper passing places. Would say for a couple with no children it's a good site wouldn't recommend for children, luckily Weymouth is only a short drive away or there's the bus service from site which was reasonably priced at £9 return for 2 adults 1 child. Not some where we'd come back to unfortunately while we have a child with us, maybe one day in the future as just a couple. Shower/toilet block ok but when it rains and sky lights left open it floods inside and gets slippy which happen a few times on our stay.
Awesome staff... Great 'feel ' to the site and had a great time in late October. Given the amount of tent sites I don 't think there are enough showers etc. That saying best shower block I have been to in 10 years.. Service: 5 Location: 5
A lovely site nestled beside East Fleet lagoon, with great access to the south west costal path. Pitches are rather narrow making getting on and off a little tricky without damaging the grass. Facilities very nice, clean and plenty of space. Staff really helpful, well stocked shop and a pub. We enjoyed this site out of season, I imagine it would be too busy and feel a little overcrowded for us in the better weather. Service: 5
