I wish they would increase their daily inventory. I often call to reserve my order before time, 2-3 loaves per week
Many of them saw typical Japanese style bakery. Nothing too beautiful or fancy, but beautiful traditional bread. Appropriately expensive. Among some of these simple articles I could not help get chocolate cream filled bread, which is called in Japan as a treat for me and it was very good! Unfortunately, cakes were not so good... Not bad, but cheesecake didn't have much cheese in it and Tiramisu was just a coffee cream cake or something? Four stars. I'm going back to the ground. Great to have a large parking lot next to them. Loves this easy access.
The legend, the Watanabe bakery is known. This place attracts fresh baked bread and supplies it in supermarkets all over the island. this place has great curry bread, a pan and a n assortment of different pastries along with new flavors all the time. Go early for the freshest bread.
The bread is sooo soft and delicious! This brings back memories when I was a child and my father would bring me a laib of Japanese bread from his work trips home. The texture of the Mochi Donuts (black sesame and matcha were soft as a donut with the light chewiness of Mochi. The donuts are sweet, but not an excessive sweetness. The Donuts Icing seems to be a little sensitive to the Hawaiian heats, because when I came home, the Icing remained a little on the plastic bag. I also discovered Matcha bread! New product. It basically mixes the white bread with Matcha power. The taste is subtle and beautiful. It would be good to spread some koshi and drop a little honey. Maybe how to attach homemade matcha? Yum! The possibilities are endless: . Do not worry when the matcha-bread begins to turn a gray color... It is only when it is exposed to sunlight for a long time. I regret not taking pictures, because I just wanted to eat my goodies. Go back one day for more of everything!
I 've been visiting this bakery since before they were Watanabe and I keep coming back for more. They have a great multigrain bread product. So delicious! I love having it with over-easy eggs, un-toasted. It makes a great tuna salad with a few chips stuffed inside. Other things I love: Chocolate ganache cake. I 'm not really a cake guy but I really like this one. Kame/turtle. Tasty melon-pan azuki pastry. Katsu-sando. Pork cutlet sandwich. Yum! Walnut rye. Rye bread, in Hawaii? Yes, please! Cut thick. Monkey bread. Guilty pleasure, fat-boy snack item. Aim to visit around noon to get the widest selection on baked and prepared goods.
