Contribuiți la feedbackThe service was quite good, and our waiter was friendly. However, I have to be honest—the food was quite disappointing. The best item I tried was the burger, but it was just an average burger, really. The open-faced shrimp sandwich tasted like a mayonnaise soup, and the beet salad was nothing remarkable; it was just a typical green salad with a few beets thrown in. The only highlight, aside from the good service, was their homemade ketchup. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place. The only positive was that the prices were reasonable, but I would say if they increased by $1 or $2, it would no longer be worth it.
I had forgotten how small Tango is, as every table was filled. I started with a Botanist gin and tonic, but Jessica mentioned they had just received a bottle of Monkey 47, so I decided to try that instead. It was flowery, fruity, and slightly spicy—a delightful change, though it came at a price ($16.50). For our meal, we ordered the Breaded Pork Cutlet ($17) and the Grilled Pesto Glazed Salmon Salad ($15.50). The pork cutlet was more like a schnitzel than what my friend had expected; he was anticipating something akin to tonkatsu. He found it to be incredibly tender, and the gravy was delicious, served with fries and vegetables. The fries were accompanied by a sauce we initially thought was a mix of ketchup and mustard, but it turned out to be a zesty barbecue-style sauce. My salmon salad was fantastic— the generous fillet of salmon was perfectly cooked, just past medium rare, and it was served over a bed of mixed baby greens, with pieces of asparagus and halved yellow and red cherry tomatoes, all drizzled with a delicate dressing. I rounded off my meal with a cup of coffee; I’m not sure which beans were used, but it was exactly to my liking—dark and rich. Overall, Tango Contemporary Café is an excellent spot for delicious, well-prepared food. I highly recommend it!
Another big sleeper.... This is a rule for us... we love the variety of dishes... big soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees... plus Friday Bar BQ at her sister location on the street... Aloha, Paul Myrna
Had dinner tonight with a party of 13. All we had was impeccable, including the service that is right is very difficult to find. We'll be back here. Highlights were the French onion soup, veggie board, scallop appetizer and entrée, tasting menus and blueberry bread pudding. Oo and coffee drinks were all delicious!
We had a strong craving for dessert, and this place did not disappoint! We ordered bread pudding, ice cream, and an iced espresso, and we were completely satisfied with all of it. The cinnamon ice cream paired perfectly with the bread pudding! Plus, the ume guava sorbet quickly became a new favorite flavor of ours. Tami was incredibly friendly and helpful, even though we were just picking up desserts to go. We can't praise our experience enough! We'll definitely be returning, even though we don't live nearby.
