Taiyo Ramen - Honolulu

Miss this place as this corner is purchased for the construction of another 40-storey high-condominium project. I hope they find another place. Love their robbers. Because they have to clear, I thought I'd finally spend the money and try their oxtails. Love that the meat just fell from the bones. Although I like my broth a little richer, it was delicious. The other person ordered the shrimp tempura udon, although they gave me their shrimp because they don't eat shrimp. Whatever... really enjoyed shrimp tempura with dipping sauce...yum. My only regret is that has come here for years and has never tried their curry. Maybe one day if they ever open another place. Excellent service.

I go to Taiyo since they were on Kapiolani Blvd and it's still as good as ever! I usually get the BUTTER RAMEN with side order CHAR SIU and GYOZA. The BEEF CURRY is also EXCELLENT, authentic Japanese style curry. They're best OPEN LATE. It is a great place to stop on the way home.

We had the kitsune udon katsu chicken curry. This little hole in the wall is a whole jewel! So great food (with huge portions! amazing service. And the staff here is very sweet.

Came for the kimchi fried rice recommended by a friend and went home a very full and satisfied customer. Portion is huge. Service was fast and friendly.

Always our favorite. But they ran out of menma!!!
