We arrived early (4pm) so that the restaurant was quite empty, but was told by the hostess about their 90-minute time limit policy. Okay, better tell us before us than during our meal. The service was in leisure so that something could have been of a concern, but it worked satisfactorily. We started with some Hendricks Gin and Tonics with limes instead of the right slice Gurke. A very refreshing start... although I wish bartenders would notice what Garnish is doing with certain gins. We ordered three dishes: Pork Chops over roasted rice, pad Thai with chicken and Stir Fried vegetables with beef. First, the pork chopper bowl is huge! Slices of baked boneless cuts are placed over a fine fried rice (Chinese style ... on the dry side) and covered with a very sweet tomato sauce. The texture and taste reminded me of waffles with maple syrup. It was very good, but the sweetness of the tomato sauce was not bad to me, but unexpected. The pad Thai was good; nothing to complain. The highlight dish for me was the stirring fried vegetables with beef. The vegetables (Brukkoli, green beans, carrots and mushrooms) were crisp and the dice of beef were very delicate. The sauce was thin, but savory; it left the beautiful vegetables middle stage. I could have eaten this dish with a bowl of rice. No place to dessert, but I finished my meal with a Thai ice cream coffee. The coffee was excellent and thrown through the generous portion of milk. So cool and refreshing; I would have consumed two glasses. Last thoughts... we were not long in Panya Bistro; the food was very good and the service was fine (after 93 minutes we left). Parking in Hokua is convenient and free with validation. The best prices were very reasonable.
Girl brunch at Panya Bistro and Bakery was great. You have huge menu to please everyone on the table. Laksa, Loco Moco, Vietnamese, Thai, Sandwich, Burger, Pasta etc....you need to spend time through the menu. All tasted great.
We had great drinks and appetizers. We were in the bar so service was fast, but not excessively friendly. Parking near the corner. Great desserts too. outdoor seats and clean bathrooms. I'm going back, but maybe servers have a little more smile.
Taiwanese noodles were *real* good, and edamame were perfectly boiled and salted. Open Avocado Sandwich on Croissant was also excellent. The outdoor seating were very comfortable and the staff was attentive to the right degree. A little expensive, but it's worth it. Nicole, Rosie and Alex were great!
Great place, need to train the staff to be more receptive though. Came 30 minutes early for reservation and they told me I couldn't sit yet, came back 30 minutes later and sat at the exact same table that was open when I came first. The food was excellent however the server was also kind of impolite.
