Goma Tei Ramen - Honolulu

My favorite restaurant in Honolulu! This is the original location in the Ward Center, accessible via the road next to TJ Maxx. The rich, spicy pork broth is truly unparalleled. You absolutely have to try the Tan-Ramen, which features this amazing broth along with a thick slice of pork belly that’s shaped like a ribeye steak. The dish includes thick, curvy noodles and Chinese broccoli. If you're looking for a lighter broth, I recommend the shoyu wheels. Additionally, don’t miss the chicken deed, which consists of marinated boneless chicken fried in a light dough. It's served in a generous portion with lemon and homemade katsu sauce.

I had lunch at Box Jelly and it was fantastic! The Char Siu was really delicate and flavorful. While it's great on its own, I decided to have it served over rice today. It would have been perfect if I could have had some red ginger on the side!

One of my favorite ramen spots in Honolulu is at Ward Centre, which is one of several locations around the island. The freshly made noodles really set this restaurant apart. I usually go for the Tan Tan Tan Tan, but this time I decided to try the truffle shoyu ramen. It’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. It comes with sliced chicken breast, shimeji mushrooms, a poached egg, and a variety of vegetables—truly a hearty meal. The truffle flavor was simply perfect, offering a rich taste without being overpowering. This place is always bustling for a reason, so be prepared for a short wait (the turnover is quick, especially at the counter). Just remember to sign in on the clipboards outside as soon as you arrive to reserve your spot in line!

One of my favorite races. I get the Tannen-Ramen, a huge bowl of delicious broth with ramen, green and huge piece is char siu. It's delicious and filing. Also great location to hang and chat with friends.
