I stumbled upon Asian Flavors when I was trying to find something quick to eat at the mall on my lunch break. I am a huge fan of Thai food and saw this place had Thai/Laotian fusion food. I decided to order their spicy long rice noodles with pork belly and now I literally get this every time I go here lol. It comes with clear long rice noodles in a spicy clear broth with generous pieces of pork belly and veggies. I ask to get it pretty spicy although it's already spicy. You know Thai/Laos do not mess around with their spices so this definitely has some heat to it. But I love it!! Price is pretty reasonable here too. They have a variety of other dishes that I have yet to try but they all look good. Highly recommend coming here when you're at Pearlridge!
So I don 't usually leave reviews, but I really loved the food. The restaurant is across the food court aka Phase 1, aka Uptown, aka Whatevertheydecidedtocallitthistime. We got a sampler that had Lao ribs, Lao sausage, pork chop and crispy pork belly. It was totally worth it! You can also get sticky rice on the side. The ribs were good; I really liked the seasoning. The pork belly reminded me of lechon and was served with onions and tomato on the side. The pork chop was good and had some sort of vegetable topping. The best thing was the Lao sausage. It was flavorful with a lot of herbs and had a good snap to it when you bit it. There was a bit of spice, but not overly spicy.... But I also like REALLY spicy things, so if you can 't handle spice I wouldn 't recommend the sausage. We are definitely coming back here again. I wanted to add that I also writing this review because I am thankful for the wonderful food. Last night 's dinner was a bust at a new place I tried and I was afraid to try a new place again only to be disappointed again. So glad that we found a new favorite place to eat at Pearlridge!
Asian Flavors serves Thai and other Southeast Asian dishes. They have a new location at Pearlridge Center and this was the first time we had tried their food. It certainly won’t be the last. Their food is so flavorful! My husband and I had the pork belly salad and pork chop salad. Our salads were large (enough for 1-1/2 to 2 meals), tasty and very filling. Some of the pork belly pieces were a little too crispy, but not a biggie. The house dressing was also very flavorful. We ordered a sampler for our son and daughter-in-law. The menu listed the sampler as pork belly, pork chop Lao sausage, but it looked like there were ribs in the photo. When we asked our son if he liked the food, his eyes lit up and said it was really good! That’s a glowing recommendation from him since he normally doesn’t like Asian food. We did a take-out order. Ordering by phone and pickup was quick and easy. Dine-in and delivery are also available. The restaurant was more like a food court set-up where food is ordered at the counter. I don’t think there is table service since the space is shared with two other restaurants. However, the dishes are cooked-to-order and are not sitting in warmers. Asian Flavors is located directly across from the food court in the space formerly occupied by Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
TAMARIND with li hing drink and TRUFFLE POKE!!! If you're in search of something unique and tasty... this is the place to try!!! Gotta keep an open mind about venturing in extraordinary foods and flavors. If you're up to the challenge... do it!!!
It's Fall break, and I definitely feel left out, cause it feels like everyone's else on a staycation or traveling. So since we aren't brave enough to venture out much, I settled on finding my happy place in the three asian restaurants that replaced Taco Bell/Pizza Hut in Pearlridge. I was intrigued by the media photos of the shrimp salt egg stir fry, so I was thrilled that Asian Flavors agreed to make this specialty off menu item for me, even though it wasn't on the menu. This was AMAZING. I hadn't had this before so didn't know what to expect, but I found it to be a combo of all my favorites kind of a garlic shrimp with the tons of garlic, spicy from the specialty local hot sauces they use (I went for medium, but next time, will try hot! , a bit salty from the tasty egg bits throughout, and wonderful textures from the crispy onion. The Insta post suggested that the salt egg has a strong taste that not all would like, but my husband liked it too even though he's normally put off by it in other dishes. I counted at least 12 shrimp (not huge, but large enough . It came with two huge scoops of perfectly cooked jasmine rice and a nice salad of cucumbers and lettuce (not a fan of the raw sprouts but it was a substantial salad , and a dressing that was tasty but not needed since it went well with the shrimp. I hope they add this to the permanent menu, or at least always make it available on their secret menu!
