I ordered the fish and chips for lunch. the fries were crispy and the deep fried kotfisch was delicious. my friend ordered the grilled chicken pasta. She loved it. the pasta was made al dente, and huh wet. excellent! the only part is that it is a small restaurant and so seating is cramped.
We recently stayed a couple nights at The Jervois which included welcome drinks and daily breakfast at The Cottage located next door to our hotel. Opening hours at this restaurant/bar are 7.30 to 12.00am daily. This is a small place with somewhat tightly squeezed small tables, good for parties of 2-4 patrons, offering a wide range of pub food and typical bar drinks. There is also a television with morning news and evening football matches being shown. Staff were very friendly during our visits and food and drinks served quickly. For welcome drinks, we tried their Merlot and Cabernet Sovereign which were not good. Not sure exactly what was served but the blends were low quality and both tasted poor. We'd just go with beer orders next time around. On the other hand, the breakfast sets where rather good. You have a few main choices of two eggs, avocado on toast, omelet, muesli order or breakfast breads. You then have a choice of three of the following (cumberland sausage, bacon, hash brown, baked beans and fruit salad) as well as a choice of expected breakfast drinks. We liked the breakfasts, finding them prepared well and of nice proportion. These were nice morning meals that outweighed the poor welcome drinks from our first night at The Jervios. We'd have no problems stoping here for a western-cooked brekky in the future.
I had spaghetti- it was meh. Noodles under cooked. My wife had the schnitzel which was quite large. Service was good.
Small Cafe. Very limited seating. Great location, right next to Holiday Inn Express Sheung Wan. We went for breakfast.. Very ordinary stuff. Nothing fancy compared to the other cafes surrounding this place. Price is also on the higher.
During lunch hour this place prefers money making over your seats. This means, if you would come with a table of 4, and there is a table of 8 behind you. They will then keep the empty 4 person table and wait for another 4 to leave to cater the 8 BEHIND us instead of giving us the 4 person table. Terrible. Besides that, food is ok. But would not come there again by myself.
