Coal Town Coffee Tea - Homer

This restaurant is situated in an excellent spot on Homer Spit. You'll need to search a bit to spot it, as their sign is somewhat concealed by the surrounding greenery. The log cabin ambiance added to my overall experience. The staff was very open to discussing the history behind the name of their shop. I ordered a London Fog tea latte, and they inquired if I wanted the tea to steep. Although it took a bit longer to prepare, I appreciated the attention they gave to crafting my drink.

This place serves the smoothest cup of espresso in the state! The espresso is beautifully presented, and they use locally made pottery. Be sure to take home a bag of KBay beans, as they can grind them for you right there. The customer service is incredibly friendly, too. They even offer a cubano americano! If you’re on the Spit, this is a stop you can’t miss.

I enjoyed a delicious latte and I'm really glad I chose to skip Starbucks in favor of a local spot. The aroma in the air was fantastic when the wind was in my direction, and I had a feeling it was going to be wonderful.

The location is great, featuring pleasant outdoor seating and good coffee. However, the service is extremely slow. It took roughly 20 minutes to get just one cup of coffee, despite having two employees working.

This is the best coffee I’ve had in Homer! The frothing is fantastic, the espresso is bold, and the latte art is stunning, especially in the custom stamped cups!
