Mi Taqueria Potosina - Hōlualoa

Off the beaten path but we'll worth the trip. It's really not terribly fast. The food is fresh and delicious. We got the chicken and beef tacos and while we were waiting for our order a taco salad came up that made me wish I'd ordered that. It looked incredible with slices of avacado around the top.

It took us a few attempts to get food here cause the opening hours were a little bit odd. But finally we managed and it was worth the attempts. The burritos were delicious and the lady was friendly and accommodated our wishes. If you want vegetarian, just ask her.

Very delicious food, I order enchiladas and they are the best on the area, also there salsas are like home made, real authentic cause they made it from scratch.

NOTE: this review is for the Mi Taqeria Potosina that’s located in the artsy village of Holualoa, up the mountain from Kona (on the old M Highway). Just google the directions to Holualoa, and you’ll find this cafe where the former movie theater is in the center of the village If you’re seeking delicious and authentic, home style Mexican dishes, then make the drive up the mountain above Kona to this awesome cafe . It’s run by a couple of ladies who prepare and serve amazing food... we really delighted in their chili rellenos and tamales (with yummy salsa and rice). This place is mostly frequented by locals The menu is extensive, and we’ll be back to sample more of their food... enjoy!
