Contribuiți la feedbackI did like some changes made to the menu and options but you need to stick to the menu you send home!!! The kids you are feeding at our school are (on average) ages 5-11, when you make a change to the lunches the parents have already scheduled around with NO notification it gets frustrating. After 2 years and multiple complaints I would have thought you'd fix something but NOPE, within a week of school starting you already screwed it up. When my daughter is expecting to have something on Thursday, and I send her with cold lunch on Wednesday only to have you serve Thursdays lunch on Wednesday it's a bit of a problem. When I asked her if she got the hot lunch she said no because she listens and follows the rules so she knows having her cold lunch means she's supposed to eat it. Now this morning was fun because we have NO IDEA what you're serving for lunch. Get it figured out and when there's a problem with supply, etc SEND A NOTICE HOME with the kids!!!! I will continue to post publicly until you make a change, I have had enough and obviously my calls have fallen on deaf ears..
Fresh Picks says they value health and wellness, but I've also seen a lot of junk food and white breads being served. The multi-grain pizza crust is sometimes replaced with white Italian bread (cut in half and toasted like pizza). They have Nacho Doritos as one of the sides this month. One breakfast this month (being served 3 out of 12 days), Donut Ring, stick, fruit, milk They act like they care about our children's health, but this food is not as healthy as they let on. They are a business... they are looking to make profits.
Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, the quality of the food at this restaurant has significantly declined. They have shifted from serving healthy, delicious, freshly prepared meals to cheap, government-subsidized options. The food is now being funded by the FDA and the quality has suffered as a result. I have seen pictures that my children sent me of the food they are being served, and it looks like reheated, processed meals that taste bland. Any school district that chooses to use this corporate food service instead of preparing their own meals is making a foolish decision and should reconsider immediately. It is truly disappointing and disgusting.
My wife used to work for this company located in a school building. She never received proper training due to being dismissed by a short-tempered supervisor. We have attempted to contact the HR department regarding this issue, but our calls go unanswered. If they wish to attract and retain young employees, they should strive to create a better work environment that values its employees.
I recently visited Harpoon Brewery in Windsor, VT, where I overheard two men wearing Fresh Picks Cafe shirts. The conversation I heard was shocking - they seemed more concerned about not having high school girls to look at this school year rather than feeding children, which is the main focus of this company. One of them even mentioned that maybe things will go back to normal once tennis skirt season comes back. I heard one of them was named Chris, but I'm not sure about the other. I'm relieved that my child's school doesn't use this company!
