I have tried the rice paper rolls at this restaurant on a few occasions, but they were consistently bland. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the spring roll here, as it had fresh aromas that I really enjoyed. I also ordered the fried rice, which was average at best. Each dish costs 30vnd or $1.5.
It took a while to eat. But everything is freshly cooked. The food was delicious, but a little fat. Each menu item costs 30,000 Dong. Coke, Sprite and Fanta 10,000. There twice. All right! Very friendly lady runs the restaurant.
We arrived at a deserted restaurant where only one woman was cooking and serving us. She didn't speak much English. The food was delicious and surprisingly inexpensive. We ordered Kebab rice and Cao Lao. We were saddened by the lack of customers as the lady seemed very caring and put a lot of effort into the food. Make sure to visit this place when you have the chance.
The restaurant is a little bit out of the way from the rest of Old Town, but it was closest place open late to where I was staying. When I got there in the evening it was raining and the gate was closed, she was by herself without customers. She rushed over to open the gate for me, I sat down and she gave me the menu. The menu is small, but it’s a small place. I don’t think she speaks English, but that didn’t matter. I ordered noodles with kebab, which came in a light broth with onions, carrots, soya meat, herbs and possibly some Taro. The portion was great and the food was delicious! It’s also really cheap. I highly recommend this place for a cheap, delicious meal cooked by a nice lady
