Almwirtschaft in marvellous location. pasta and jause from the finest. the tiramisu of the hüttenwirtin should be tried. the penne al arrabiata at the second time ate again incredibly delicious!
We made an early start on our hike this day because the forecast after a sunny, warm morning called for rain. We had a similar experience on the day before crossing to the Egger Alm under threatening skies and booming thunders. We just made it. Unknowingly we were only a few hundred meters away when we came out from a long climb through the forest to the edge of the meadow. We didn't know we were so close because thick clouds had already covered the meadow and we stopped attracting our full weather. Visibility fell to zero, the wind picked up the rain in our faces. When we went through the bush, we came to another Welcome-Austrian Alpine Club in direction sign, but we were confused. It showed the distance to some familiar destinations we had walked through and some we planned to reach the next day, but there were no Feistritzer Alm. The answer came to us when we realized that we were already there, literally on the fence of the inn. We made a tedious retreat within grateful that we no longer have to cover miles in deteriorating weather. Our hostess welcomed us and offered us to make us cappuccinos. We have settled with our drinks and a warm help from apple strudel to observe the rain pelt against the window and the urgings of cattle and horses. It was our observation during the hiking between huts and joints along the Austrian-Italian border that Italian accommodation was awarded with coffee drinks and red wine, while beer was king in Austria. In the Feistritzer Alm, the guest house is technically in Austria, but so close to the border with Italy that the corner of the building touches almost Italian earth. We found the stem to the best we had tasted in Austria, and the cappuccinos were as delicious as in any Roman piazza. The best of both worlds. On this special rainy and cool afternoon the dining area had the cozy wood fired heating in the corner and the Hostess made delicious pasta with inexpensive Italian red wine for the evening meal. As the only two overnight guests we had the choice of sleeping places that were simple but comfortable. We had no special effort because there were no showers, no hot water, no heat and no electricity in the sleeping areas, as the gas generator only supplied electricity in the dining room and some outdoor lights. When we called it a night, we buried ourselves in thick comfort and slept in the sound of wind and rain.
Altrimenti davo sicuramente 4 stelle.Comunque ci tornerò, consigliato!
