Slotskaelderen - Hoersholm

The restaurant is centrally located, yet quaint on the corner of a small street next to a central intersection so enough ambiance and people watching without the crowds of the nearby plaza cafes. The food is down to earth danish, not the tourist fare. The waiters and the patrons, mostly Danish, are friendly and welcoming. A gem in the center of Copenhagen.

Go there, it is the best restaurant there and a real hidden gem, but not for much longer. I was recommended this.

Good food an knowledge of wine, great food as well and a cozy dining room, but reservations should be done in good time so you can try the other dishes they have to order.

Based on TA reviews and the fact that it is reasonably close to where we are staying, we decided to try it for lunch. We were not disappointed. Luncheon was served on the terrace which features golf course views as well as the Øresund. Service was impeccable. The menu is not extensive, featuring half a dozen open face sandwiches as well as perhaps the same number of luncheon entrees. Excellent wine choices as well. Pricey but you get value for the money.
