Shorty's Place - Hobson

We dined at this restaurant on Monday, October 17th, but were greeted by a strong odor resembling sewage, prompting us to relocate to the larger dining room. Unfortunately, the smell made it difficult for me to enjoy my meal. I hope this issue gets addressed soon, as my husband insists the food is good. Should we give it another try and see if it improves?

I ordered the 16 oz ribeye, and it was so delicious that it didn't even need steak sauce. The staff was very courteous and attentive, making for a wonderful meal and a great overall experience.

There is nothing special about shorties unless you enjoy frog legs and calfberries. If you need to ask what Kalbsfries ate, it is likely that they are not for you. The food is homestyle. The shares are appropriate for the price. The food is nothing spectacular. But you get what you order. A special note: you have a vegetable of the day and if you ask for it, they will bring it to the table without additional costs.

We were hesitant to stop by after the bad experience a few months ago, but we decided after a week of hard work out of town and eating sandwiches, we were going to try here one more time. This will be the last time! We should have stuck to our sandwiches!! My husband and I shared the calf fries, 22oz sirloin cooked medium, baked potato and corn. I?m not a big steak eater so I?m ate the calf fries and half of the potato. Steaks usually have juice on the plate, this one is as dry, the steak was even dryer!! As he was eating the steak, it was literally drying out even more, when cutting, it started to resemble jerky (how it fringes). The corn was served in a small dipping sauce dish, the baked potato was cold enough the butter wouldn?t melt. My husband doesn?t like for me to complain, but when you spend nearly $50 for one plate, one appetizer, and 2 teas and the steak is dryer than a boot, I will complain. I asked the waitress, which we didn?t see after receiving our food, for a to go box so I can take the $30 steak to my dogs because it?s so dry. She smiled and said ?aww was it, I?ll let him know?. I don?t know who ?him? was because no one ever came to the table so we went to pay. I made a quick trip to the sona, I mean restroom!! It was so out in there and the toilets don?t flush! While paying my husband tells the cashier how we read reviews and were not going to stop because they were so bad, but we were hoping for a better experience?all she said was ?well good help is hard to find? NEVER AGAIN!! We?ll continue to eat sandwiches!!
