Lazenby's Cafe and Restaurant - Hobart

Whilst this place is convenient being right at uni, it is outrageously expensive. Lines are always long and getting food can take a very long time, my own food having been forgotten on at least two occasions. There is always a vegetarian option and a large range of salads and sandwiches but there are usually only about 5 options to choose from a day.

A student any times at UK universities, I was pleased to find this cafe, which is very pleasant indeed for a light meal or drink. It's not the cheapest, but then it offers a better standard, especially the decor and surroundings. You don't have to be a student to enjoy it either.

..is the driving force behind this business. The sheer desperation of the broke student, desperate for a warm, comforting cup of tissue restoring juices, who once again, leaves this oh so hope-dashing establishment unfulfilled. Indeed, it is a widely known fact within the established yuppie community that the backbone of this business' trade is it's location, not its merits. For woe betide any poor soul who wishes to obtain reasonably priced goods, or a cup of the brewed liquor (that does not almost entirely consist of burnt milk) for anything less than his good taste and the entire contents of his practically bare pocket. Like Napoleon in the later parts of Waterloo incident, when he admitted defeat and then mournfully observed that at least the Duke of Wellington wore a pair of very nice shoes, it would be unfair of me to admit that that this establishment, though it's faults be numerous, does have a few superficial qualities. For example, it has nice booths which are most pleasant to sit in, provided you can avoid the general seating arrangements, which often carry enough food scraps to fortify the local chicken industry. And a good amount of the staff are mostly pleasant and hard-working, just absolutely terrible at making a good ol' mug of cupped lightning.Be warned, Lazenby's! The last trumpet has sounded, and we the people are mighty and also moderately cross at the indignation of being charged designer prices for Kmart quality.

I held a meeting here with a UTAS staff member and we had a good coffee and hot chocolate. It is a good place to meet on campus.
