Green Man - Hitchin

This place is a true gem! They offer a 55’s menu at lunchtime that I haven't tried yet, but I can't wait to! The menu features traditional pub fare, which isn't fancy but is fresh, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious. I've been back three times in one week just to sample more dishes! The mixed grill for under £8.00 includes a rump steak, a lamb chop, a pork steak, two sausages, plenty of bacon, fresh veggies, and sautéed potatoes, all served with a side salad. The meat was cooked to perfection, and they even have a larger mixed grill available for under £12.00 that includes even more meat—though the smaller one is generous enough on its own! It's clear that many regulars appreciate this place for the great food and excellent value!

Today, after an emotionally draining day saying goodbye to a family member, I came here. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a very pleasant atmosphere to relax with a pint. Thank you for your warmth.

We had a delicious meal at the pub, and the owners were very friendly. The prices were also quite reasonable. All four of us highly recommend this place!

Visited Oct2019, mid week. Superb little pub in a great village location. Good beers at least two real ales on tap with a modest menu, great value, superbly cooked. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. Image is of a meal deal burger chips with (what's left of) a pint of Doom Bar.
