Contribuiți la feedbackMaking a reservation at Zicon is well worth it for the exceptional experience of vegan kaiseki. The chef is friendly and dedicated to improving his vegan offerings, although his dishes were already outstanding. Our multi-course lunch featured dishes like rape blossoms in sesame sauce, strawberries in pine nut compote, steamed bamboo shoots with tree bud miso, tempura fu and broad beans, seasoned wasabi leaves, onion asparagus and seaweed over rice, and miso soup. Dessert included freshly-whisked matcha tea and Japanese sweets with yuzu and adzuki. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quiet and intimate, making the whole experience delightful. I highly recommend it!
Venturing to Zicon for a vegan kaiseki dining experience is definitely worth making a reservation for. The chef is incredibly friendly and committed to perfecting his vegan dishes. Honestly, I'm not sure there's much room for improvement because everything he served was exceptional! Our multi-course lunch included dishes like rape blossoms in sesame sauce, strawberries in pine nut compote, steamed bamboo shoots with tree bud, tempura fu and wide beans, spiced wasabi leaves, onion asparagus and seaweed over rice, and a side of soup. For dessert, we enjoyed freshly whisked Matcha tea and two Japanese sweets: one with Yuzu and one with Adzuki. The restaurant has a calming and intimate atmosphere, and the entire dining experience was simply beautiful. I highly recommend giving Zicon a try!
The vegan kaiseki experience at Zicon is definitely worth making a reservation for. The chef is friendly and dedicated to constantly improve his vegan offerings. However, I must say that everything he served was already phenomenal! Our multi-course lunch included delicious dishes such as rapeseed blossoms in sesame sauce, strawberries in pine nut compote, steamed bamboo shoots with tree buds, tempura wheat gluten and broad beans, spicy wasabi leaves, pickled vegetables, and seaweed over rice, with a side of miso soup. For dessert, we enjoyed freshly whisked Matcha tea and two Japanese sweets, one with yuzu and one with adzuki. The restaurant has a quiet and intimate ambiance, making the whole experience simply beautiful. I highly recommend it!
Review: If you're into unique restaurant and chef experiences, prepare to be impressed. This restaurant only has 8 seats (4 in a private room, 4 at the bar), making it perfect for groups of 4 or fewer. Run by a young man who handles everything from owning to operating to cooking, this place served the best Japanese food I had during my 2-week stay in Japan. The prices were reasonable, and the chef cooked right in front of us, demonstrating incredible professionalism. Despite not speaking English, he used Google Translate to describe each course, which was truly amazing.
My vegan friends and I had a great time.
