Apple Peddler No 7 - Hines

I always know that during my long journey from California to Idaho, I can count on a delicious meal and a good laugh from the friendly wait staff. My one-year-old was feeling quite worn out from the trip and really needed a break. When we arrived, I felt a wave of relief. The staff and other diners greeted us with warm smiles and friendly waves. Thank you for this wonderful place, which has been a gem for years!

The heat was broken and there were flies everywhere. The place felt dark and rundown. Our booth wasn’t just dirty; it was falling apart. I've had better burgers at fast food places for half the price. The fries were dry and flavorless, almost as if they had been cooked, left out for a while, and then fried again. I ended up paying $40 for the worst meal I’ve ever had, all while sweating in my seat and battling flies. Even our one-year-old, who usually eats everything in sight, wouldn’t touch the bacon. My girlfriend ordered a Pepsi, and it took the one overwhelmed server almost 15 minutes to bring it to us. It felt like I was in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. My friend said the food was so bad it didn’t deserve to be eaten. Just a total disappointment.

The pros: the staff is friendly and hard-working, the restaurant was clean although some seats were worn and patched, the food is good for diner food, you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner at anytime. The cons: it is obvious that the owner is not putting any money into the place. Aside from the seats, the ice maker has been broken for two years and staff have to run to the store for ice. They were out of most of the desserts. And there was one waitress and one cook for approximately 15 tables. The cook had to help bus tables. I can overlook the decor and the slow service due to lack of staffing. But the neglect is uncalled for

The help could have been a little more customer oriented, as in if you dont have something you could offer something else or a substitute instead of a running comentary as an excuse. The ham and eggs were pretty much on par with how it should be cooked, except the medium cooked eggs came out over easy

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere felt genuine, the food was authentic, and the service was excellent. Chelsie, our server, was especially accommodating and friendly. Thank you!
