A hidden gem on Hindmarsh Island opposite the Murray mouth. Fresh local fish and the best chips. Mulloway and Mullett bought direct from the local fisherman, you don't get much fresher than that. Grilled to perfection. This has become our local 'take away' and dine out place. They also have generous-sized hamburgers as well as other seafood items. Ask if there are cockles on the menu, they were delicious! Semi-regularly there is live entertainment with Juliet Oliver. Bring your own chairs and table if staying for the entertainment as there is quite a following there for the food and show. All outdoors so you may need to rug-up on windy/cold days. Friendly owners and service.

Awesome food and friendly service. Best fish and chips we have had in ages. Well worth a drive from Adelaide. We will be back and highly recommend people check out this hidden gem!

Located in a historic and culturally significant area, this restaurant is a must-visit spot. The owners have done a great job with a simple set-up, but it's a shame that the South African government or council doesn't have the vision to see its full potential. Tourism needs support to thrive, and this hidden gem definitely deserves more recognition. Just remember to bring a jacket, as it can get cool in the evenings.

After spending hours canoeing in the Coorong, we decided to stop by this restaurant for some hot chips and a cup of coffee. The chips were delicious, the coffee was excellent, the service was quick, and the staff were very nice and friendly.
