We stopped by for a coffee after a delightful Sunday stroll around the Devil's Punchbowl. The coffee was wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable. Nearby activities include a scenic walk around the Devil’s Punchbowl. There’s ample paid parking available, which is free if you’re a National Trust member, along with nearby picnic areas. Service: 4/5 Location: 5/5 Hotel highlights: Excellent value.

Fabulous experience my partner, Brenda Horwood, described it, accurately in my opinion, as faded grandeur . The receptionist/barman (a tall, slim young bloke, on our stay (Mon 6th Nov, last week) was great, hadn 't worked there long, very professional, and friendly. A magnificent old building, in an equally great setting.
