Coco Ichibanya - Himeji

Had the vegetarian curry with cauliflower instead of the traditional rice. was great! go back.

This was an excellent option for vegan currey, just ask for the vegetarian menu and go and order from there.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from CoCo Ichibanya but was pleasantly surprised! I ordered their okra and mushroom curry from the separate vegetarian menu. It was much tastier and filling than I expected! If you're in Himeji and strapped for vegan options, this place is definitely worth checking out. Updated from previous review on 2019-09-01

I was surprised to see several curry options on their vegetarian menu (it 's actually vegan) they also have a page in their main menu booklet (might be only in Japanese) to show which dish contains what so you can check if other food besides the vegan curries is for you or not. Big portion too! I was barely able to finish my food. I didn 't see in the non-Japanese menu mentioning the fact they 'd charge more if you level up the spiciness portion of rice so you might wanna ask first.

Tastes great even though it doesn't look great. Good for the price. Be sure to look at the vegetarian menu and not to accidently order the vegtable zanmai curry. It contains meat and is more expensive!
