These are definitely oversized biscuits, so come hungry! If you leave still hungry, it's on you! The restaurant itself is immaculately clean and has a warm, inviting atmosphere. The owner and staff are fantastic—exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable about the area, providing us with great tips to enhance our holiday.
I read the reviews and decided to try this local spot for breakfast while waiting for our tennis team to start their afternoon game. I ordered the Hot Chicken Biscuit, Mushroom Cobbler with a biscuit, a side of scrambled eggs, and coffee. Everything was delicious! Since I don't like regular creamer, my only suggestion would be to offer nut or soy creamer or milk as well. The interior has a nice front area, and the open seating arrangement toward the back is lovely. I also enjoyed the artwork on the walls! I hope I got their names right: Trisha, who helped me with my order, and Franklin, who looked after my food at the table, were both very friendly.
We opted for the Gravy Train because we couldn't resist the allure of “mushroom chowder,” and it certainly did not disappoint. What we experienced was a breakfast that made us close our eyes in bliss with every bite, eat with our hands like we were wild animals, and drink the gravy from cups like it was a shot. Apparently, there’s champagne mixed into the gravy (I asked), which made it all the more fitting. First off, the cookies defy gravity—standing at about 4-5 inches tall. They are so fluffy, they’re almost otherworldly! I’ve never encountered anything quite like them before. And the gravy? Let's just say we often found ourselves repeating phrases like, “I could bathe in this” and “This is the best thing I’ve ever tasted.” After indulging in the cookies, we sipped the gravy straight from the cups. The atmosphere of the place is also fantastic, filled with funky artwork, and I’d have more to share if I weren't so preoccupied trying to figure out how to marry a cookie. If they offered lattes, I might just consider moving in!
Okay... I knew this place was well based on previous reviews, but come on. The cookie is ineffective. I got the hot chicken biscuit (what he said was the most popular) and it was ineffective. I've only been living in the Southeastern part of the USA for a few years, but I'm trying everywhere I go, roasted chicken. I expected the cookie to steal the show, but the chicken was incredible. It came out so fast. Many outdoor seating. This place is worth every 5-star rating.
Bad Biscuit is a (slightly) hidden gem. Delicious, breakfast biscuits with eggs and breakfast Meat of your choice plus other souther breakfast staples. We sampled the bacon, egg and cheese on biscuit with a hash brown cake and side of sausage gravy all delicious. It was busy, lots of hungry folks and one register but all in all, it didn’t take that long. Worth the small wait! I saw they also had take and bake biscuits for the road may have to hit that up next time! Make sure to make the stop!
