Holiday Inn Portland West Hillsboro, An Ihg

Upon entering the lobby, you're impressed, but it pretty much stops there. For a newer hotel, the rooms were adequate, but the mattresses were cheap and impossible to get a good night's sleep (especially with all the noise from the room above us). Breakfast was a disgrace ... $16 for scrambled eggs and bacon, on paper plates with cheap plastic utensils. Let's not forget the $10/day to park the car! Nah, I won't be back.

This is a beautiful, newer hotel in a great location, but lacking in many of their amenities. The king room with a pull out bed is what we were given at check-in because they said they were out of two queen bed options. The line at check-in was ridiculous and the person checking us in seemed completely overwhelmed.I slept on the pull-out sofa bed and it is probably the worst mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. Additionally, they provided us with a twin size mattress pad to cover a queen size pull out sofa. It didn’t even make it halfway across the bed. The mattress itself was literally like sleeping on a boxspring. I chose this hotel because I am an IHG member and credit card holder and the hotel had a full restaurant and bar. When we arrived, the bar wasn’t open and when we went to get breakfast on Sunday morning at 9 AM we were told that “ there wasn’t very much left”. It was buffet style at $16 per person, and really didn’t offer anything more than a typical continental breakfast at Holiday Inn Express down the road. The staff was extremely rude, and almost seemed to be pushing us away from eating there. There is no snack bar, and they nickel dime you for everything, even parking in a huge parking lot. The decor is nice and the rooms were quiet. There are many other hotel options in the area to choose from, so I would steer clear of this one.Rooms: Beds are absolutely the worst!!!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. We had a terrible stay due to the condition of our bed, as other reviewers noted.(see photo) The bed is so worn out, it had two huge dips on each side and we could not get comfortable. It’s a shame, as the hotel is great in all other aspects, but sleep is important and you pay good money to stay here. I have brought this to the Managers attention, so hopefully no other person has to endure sleepless nights like we did.

The hotel and rooms were beautiful! The staff, especially the bar tender, were extremely helpful and friendly! Only complaints were that the pool was extremely cold and not heated and the hot tub was discolored a grungy green. My husband, who works in maintenance and has years of experience with pool and spa cleanliness, was concerned that the spa needed some major attention. Other than that, our stay was good.

Was just what we expected. Pool, small exercise room, free breakfast, clean room, friendly staff, easy parking. Not far from strip malls, big box stores, restaurants, highway. Very good for the one night, will stay here again when in the area.
