Mountain Peaks Inn - Hill City

We had a fantastic four-night stay in the Bear Mountain Suite. From the moment we arrived, Lisa welcomed us with warmth and was incredibly helpful, particularly when we needed access to a phone. The suite itself was delightful and cozy, beautifully adorned with a bear theme—everything from ornaments and pictures to plush toys, towels, the shower curtain, and bed linens highlighted this charming motif. It was well-stocked with supplies, and the inclusion of a fridge and microwave was a great convenience. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower worked perfectly. We also appreciated the nice little balcony area for storing our luggage. The location couldn’t have been better, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and parking available right outside the suite. All the doors locked securely, which added to our feeling of safety. I highly recommend this place!

We always prefer to stay in Hill City when visiting the Black Hills, as it serves as the perfect base for exploring all the activities and sights in the area. This July, we stayed in the Old Baldy Suite, which I highly recommend for extended stays since it feels like you have your own personal space. Our hosts, Steve and Lisa, were truly wonderful. One of the delightful surprises was their coffee shop at the front of the property; their expertise in coffee really shines through. Even as someone who doesn't typically drink coffee, I found myself visiting the shop every morning they were open—except for one day—during our week-long stay (they're open Monday to Saturday). I highly encourage you to stay here. You'll find excellent rates, especially during peak season when prices can soar in the Black Hills, and you'll appreciate the genuine hospitality of your hosts, which adds to the enjoyment of your stay.

This is a charming place to stay. The owners are incredibly welcoming and attentive. I would certainly recommend it!

What a beautiful place! Mountain Peaks Inn definitely feels like your home away from home. Each room is immaculate, spacious, and stocked with everything you need for your stay. The owners, Steve and Lisa are readily available, quick to respond, and very knowledgeable about the area. A major bonus of staying here is the attached coffee shop Caboose Coffee. You will find a friendly face working in this family owned and run business, whether it’s Steve, Lisa, or one of their children. Delicious coffee, smoothies, teas, freshly baked good, etc. await you as you as you step inside! It’s set in a convenient location to downtown Hill City and area attractions. I definitely recommend staying at Mountain Peaks Inn.

We had a great stay with Sam and Linda. They were so welcoming and helped us with whatever we needed. Loved our room as it had lots of space for everything. It was the room with the sliding glass door. Room contained everything one might need. Plus the location couldn’t have been more perfect. Hill City is a great little town that is easy to walk in. Oh and the room was spotless. Thznk you Sam and Linda!
