An Cala - Highland

We happened on this little cafe as it was the opposite direction that everyone else went in after getting off the steam train. What a find. It seemed to be mum, grandma and daughter and together they gave us a brilliant lunch. I would go back just for that Cullen Skink!

Had filled prawn rolls and lotus rocky road. Lovely service. Scottish bread rolls so fresh and fluffy. Prawns freshly fished even had the name of the fishing boat on the blackboard in the cafe. Absolutely delicious. Rocky road was crunchy and squidgy in all the right places! Also kindly filled my water bottle for coach journey back. Thank you, will come back every time :

This cafe doesn’t look great when you peer through the door but the takeaway coffee we bought was the best I’ve had in a long time. The homemade cakes looked very tasty too.

Saw prawn rolls and homemade soup on blackboard outside and didn’t have huge amount of time before our ferry was due to leave. Exceeded our expectations by miles!! The prawns (fishing boat was named! were huge, good quality bread, with salad and mayo. My sister and I shared a prawn roll and portion of Cullen skink soup and cheese scone….. Oh wow! We agreed, best prawn sandwich we’d ever had and the soup was deeelish too. We hardly dared hope that the same might still be available on our return, but were in luck! No sharing this time though-one of each twice! The homemade salted caramel cake tempted us too. My sis was unsure if it’d be worth cancelling out the taste of the soup, but I assured her it absolutely was! The cafe is very understated, staff very friendly and a you certainly won’t be disappointed in the food. Thank you!

This restaurant is located near the train station. It has a bright and clean atmosphere. The charming lady who waited on us served freshly made sandwiches and hot, fresh, and delightful soup. The portion sizes are generous and overall worth the money. Unfortunately, we missed out on the tarts since we arrived late. It's a great place to enjoy a meal.
