Service was good and we enjoyed a really nice late lunch out on the deck. Just a short drive south of Higginsville exit on the outer road.
Once again, we found another place to rave about. We’re traveling in an RV and some businesses have opened up to allow campers to spend the night through the Harvest Host program. We found a gem with Arcadian Moon. Just off I-70 in Higginsville, MO. It’s a dirt road up to the restaurant…..but no worries. We can wash the vehicles on Sunday !!! ??.We pulled in, warmly welcomed, it’s Saturday and after settling in, we walked over to the restaurant. Found out the music starts at 6:00 !!! Selected our bottle of wine… Cynthiana. A nice dry red wine sat outside with a beautiful view of the Lake and simply enjoyed the surroundings. Several items on the menu looked soooooo good. We decided to order the Bruschetta 4 cheese Baked Ziti. OMG…. Delicious and full of flavor !! The Bruschetta had fresh cut tomatoes with basil and a balsamic drizzle on a very nice lightly toasted slice of bread. The baked ziti was mozzarella, Parmesan, ricotta provolone cheeses and the best blush cream sauce that I’ve ever had. We felt the prices were reasonable. We liked the wine so much, we bought a second one to take back to the Coach.By evening, the parking lot got full. It’s certainly a popular place. Not only regular guests, but 9 other Harvest Host members check in too.YES….. YES…. This is a place I would highly recommend to visit.
Absolutely amazing! We enjoyed the wine, music, and atmosphere here. Stayed overnight and was overall a great experience! We'll definitely be back. Erin was great to talk to! Loved all the staff!
Rolled into town after sunset, and were referred to this spot for a romantic dinner, by our hotel clerk. After a few wine and beer samplings, we made our way outside to enjoy the cool air and guitarist on the back deck. Too dark to enjoy the lake, but the twinkling lights, and ambient surroundings were DEVINE after staring at tail lights all day!!! We both ordered Pesto Pasta and had sausage added. It was delicious, pared with the dry Pioneer White wine. Pleasant end to a stressful day.
My husband and I were excited to try this local “winery/brewery” for our date night, but we were disappointed and hungry after our experience and ended up getting McDonald’s on the way home ?The service: servers knew nothing about the wine beers offered and smirked about/questioned our choices when we gave our order. We also found it odd that we had to order our drinks at the bar and carry our own glasses, wine bottle/bucket, and menus, then find our own table. We were also never offered any water. The wine:Our biggest disappointment of the night was the fact that they advertise themselves as a local winery/brewery (and charge local winery prices) but in fact, they make nothing of their own. When we ordered our wine, we were under the impression that it was made on site (or at least sourced locally), but turns out it was imported from St James winery in Massachusetts. We paid 25 for a bottle of wine that tasted no better than a 10 bottle from the grocery store.Food:The appetizer and pizza we ordered tasted good but (in our opinion) it was overpriced for the amount of food we got. In the end, we paid 70 for 1 bottle of cheap wine, an appetizer and a medium pizza.Setting:The grounds were not kept up very well (lots of weeds), the tables/chairs by the lake look like they were pulled out of an old garage sale, and the porch seating was rundown with paint chipping, spider webs, and overly loud music.Bottom line, if you’re looking for a local winery/brewery with great drinks, good service, and a beautiful setting worth the , this probably will disappoint.
