The tap room itself was a nice spot. I sat at a booth table inside for an early lunch. I didn 't partake in any adult beverages, unfortunately, due to the drive home. But the iced tea and 'The Big Cheese ' burger were on point. The burger flavor reminded me of a place back home when I was growing up. Just a little char taste, cooked just right. Good basic burger that I didn 't feel like I was being over-charged for. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. When back in the area, I 'll definitely be sampling the real beverages. Parking was fairly easy as well, and free for 2-3 hrs, unless I missed any pay signage.
Love eating the fish and chips there. Good serving size of fish, too! Most of the items on menu is great! Fun local place to soak up the vibe of Hickory! I will say this is not fast food. Go knowing you will have time to chat and relax. Don't go thinking you will be catching the next showing at Carolina Theater in 20 minutes. Service can be slow on picking up check and cashing you out, which is why they didn't get the full stars. They are friendly and will get you what you need. Enjoy live music if going for night out. Great place!
I did to go, that service was great. Atmosphere seemed nice. When I got home and got to my food, salad and Irish roasted roots were delicious, my medium rare steak however was not. It was not medium rare it was more medium…and was quite tough. I gave more of it to my dog than I had of it. I would not suggest getting the steak if you go there. Even if you cover it in A1, it won’t save it. Was quit a disappointment.
I had an amazing meal, it's been quite some since I enjoyed a burger and the blueburger certainly delivered in satisfying my hunger for a great one. The spinach and artichoke dip was also very delicious. Had an amazing server, always making sure the tea was topped off. This is my first time visiting North Carolina and I've experienced nothing but hospitality.
Walked right in and found a seat at the bar. Deb-Debs-Debbie(? greeted me with a welcoming smile. Within minutes, I had a refreshing Hefeweizen and piping hot spinach artichoke dip appetizer before me. The vibe was light and a little goofy—just the way I like it. Everyone, whether owner or staff or patron, seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the afternoon. I'm looking forward to next time!
