Not a good restaurant. We ordered chicharrones de pollo and they have no flavor also the beans.Bistec a Caballo same No flavor come on people work on this . So disappointed! The only thing that we like it was the tostada and cafecito.Definitely will not go back!
If you want a nice cuban style setting this was reqlly nice. The people were extremely nice and the food and coffee was great.
This is a breakfast/lunch, no frills kind of Cafe. Off the beaten path, great food, good prices. Nice people, lots of regulars. Good portions. Love the food... try the daily specials such as Oxtail.. yum!.
I asked the waiter to take the tostones back. Upon tasting the food, I found the rice was not fresh, and the breaded steak was flavorless, overcooked, and incredibly dry. Some pieces of rice were hard, making it difficult to continue eating. When the owner approached our table, her demeanor suggested she was annoyed, probably because I had mentioned to the waitress that I didn’t want the tostones. I tried to explain to the owner what was wrong with the rice and commented that the oil used to fry the steak tasted as if it had been used for fish—perhaps it was old. Instead of listening, the owner became defensive, insisting I was wrong about the freshness of the food, and dismissively said, “Don’t worry about it; you don’t have to eat it,” as she snatched the food away in a sarcastic manner. When she suggested I come to the back of the kitchen to see for myself, I pointed out in Spanish that she shouldn’t react that way to constructive criticism. Her sarcasm only escalated as she replied that the customer is always right, whatever that meant. I am not a cheap customer; I know the difference between good, fresh food and what I received. It is unacceptable to overcharge for three overcooked tostones and tasteless rice with dry meat. As a restaurant owner, being open to feedback is essential for growth and improvement. Sadly, I won’t be returning due to the poor quality of food and the service I experienced from the owner. It’s just not worth my time or money. If you’re going to serve subpar food, at least treat your customers with respect!
