Contribuiți la feedbackI was disappointed with the starter I ordered, the chicory salad. It had over 90% chicory and lacked enough blue cheese, pear, and walnuts. My last experience with a salad starter at St. Albans in November was much more satisfying.
Lussmans has a very successful formula which it does not deviate from. They keep a smallish menu to allow for plenty of change and the food is interesting and well-cooked. It is also very good value.
Such a lovely lunchtime experience. Great welcome with such friendly, courteous staff. Very nice set price menu as well as excellent a la carte choices. Very high standard bistro type restaurant with lovely ambience. I would thoroughly recommend.
Wasn't impressed with the food. My rabbit linguine starter could have been anything as far as the meat was concerned. Tiny pieces crisped up beyond all recognition and taste. The paster was ok. My main course was halibut. Nicely cooked, chips were hot, side veggies ok. My partner had prawn cocktail to start. It was OK, nothing to write home about. His slow cooked lamb shoulder turned out to be reheated (microwaved) lamb shank. Hard as iron, no tenderness and not very hot. Not at all as advertised. We complained and were given a discount. No desserts taken, so no comment there. Also, they only serve craft beers all bottled, nothing on tap. The nearest thing to lager was a gluten free Estrella at 5.5% which didn't taste great and was a bit too strong, or Pilsner which is never our first choice. We didn't bother.
The chips were mostly much better than on recent visits, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, still a few hard ones! The battered fish is still the best and it’s definitely our “go to” restaurant on Friday.
