Carilley Estate - HERNE HILL

Went to restaurant last night and loved the food, ambience and service. We had fried octopus, gnocchi (melt in your mouth), steak and roast vegies with side of hand cut chips (yummy),brownies (to die for) and the best raw cheesecake ever... absolutely wonderful. Thankyou for a wonderful experience.

Set in a quiet estate with a garden view. We went on a cool 25 degree day for lunch and were seated outside under the shade sail. Waitresses were polite and friendly. Food was alright, their lamb cutlets were worth a try. Drinks on the other hand was a bit of a letdown. Ordered a cocktail, and I have to say it was an average looking cocktail given its price. It was a pleasant experience overall.

The beauty of the swan Valley is captured perfectly by Carilley Estate. The food is beautiful and not pretentious. Well presented plates, bubbly helpful staff and a playground for the kids so bring family friendly is a plus.

We absolutely LOVE this restaurant. It was our second visit last night and the owner greeted us at the door, he was friendly and attentive but not over the top considering it was a quiet dinner service. The food was impeccable, we started with the bruschetta $15) and pork spring rolls $14.50) and then had the crumbed whiting $26.50) and barramundi special $26.50). The prices are reflective of the quality of food you receive, I honestly cannot fault any of it. The servings are large and in all honesty we probably didn’t need the second entree. Nice selection of wines and beer also. Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning as regulars here.
