Contribuiți la feedbackI had the salmon with mashed potatoes and it was delicious! More than worth the price and I will definitely have it again. The reason I am giving this review 4 stars instead of 5 is because they had the televisions turned to Fox News the entire time. The last thing I want to view is constant negative news while I'm trying to eat and relax, particularly with the political climate being so divided these days. And that evening there were people of different political views at our table, which just made things a little uncomfortable, and unnecessarily so. I have never been to a nice restaurant that had the news on, I don't care what channel or political affiliation. I hope they will consider putting something on the televisions that is more middle ground so that everyone can relax and enjoy their meals. Save the news for home.
So far this area sucks for restaurants coming from New York and Totally spoiled from the best. This is by far the worst restaurant in the area looks beautiful they don't know how to cook a piece of meat. It was so raw it look like a sex organ. And I'm a member of this thing I have a house here I pay thousands of dollars to be a member. Oh my God I brought my friends from the city and they were horrified that I was trying to impress them with the most disgusting food in the planet wouldn't go here either so far the only place to go is Crystal River the places in Crystal River or amazing if you like seafood, they're all good
If you are carnivore who likes to overpay for mediocre food, limited options, service stretched thin and weak drinks then skyview is the dining spot for you. Maybe I am not their core customer since I am a vegetarian but the few times we have taken friends we are greeted with hostility by the staff who refuse to remove the meat from a salad or sandwich. Incredulously we were told once after serving a salad they argued that they had removed the meat from the salad. Looking down I have a salad bowl almost completely covered with . Clearly the people preparing the overpriced food to send a message that we are not welcome. When restaurants are taking steps to handle food allergies, gluten free options and vegetarian menu items skyview remains aligned with a small segment of the residents ignoring all the dining changes present in the industry designed to widen their customer base. If you like marginal food at high prices then Skyview is your place
The staff tries desperately to overcome the narrow vision of the citrus hills management but they fail every time. Whether eating at Skyview or the grille or the tiki bar one fact is abundantly clear the food served is over priced out of step with the competition and caters to a minority within citrus hills. How can you ruin grilled cheese? Fill it with beef or chicken? Ruin tacos just pretend old El Paso represents Mexican cuisine and include fries. The biggest problem is the lack of flexibility exhibited in the menu and the lack of training for the staff. If a salad includes chicken which I do not eat is it really difficult to ask the person compiling the salad to omit the chicken. Instead I am told to pick out the chicken myself? A separate occasion I was assured that meat would be omitted from my salad only to receive a salad covered in bacon. When I ask why the salad has meat I was told bacon is not meat! In a world full of obesity with a declining life expectancy it is really easy to point to examples like Skyview who are operating in the last century ignore progress in food service who cater to a wider audience with a focus on healthier meals.
The Crystal River area in Florida has been a vacation lover's paradise for many years, and for a variety of reasons. Water lovers have their pick: scalloping, scuba diving, fishing kayaking, or taking a refreshing swim with the oh-so-adorable manatees. Outdoor enthusiasts can choose from activities such as hiking, biking, birding, and horseback riding. If you prefer to stay indoors, there are several art galleries, museums, as well as the performing Arts Center of Citrus County. So much to do. A popular outdoor sport that seems to be underrated in this part of the state is golf. That's very surprising because the area offers several private, semi-private, and daily fee facilities with distances ranging from executive length to PGA TOUR length. There is something here for all levels of golfer. The Villages of Citrus Hill is home to around 8,000 residents who enjoy 54 holes of golf, 20 tennis and pickleball courts, a 50,000 square foot fitness/wellness center, and a full-service spa. There are several dining venues as well, all serving incredible food as well as a full-service spa. Golf seems to be the main attraction here. There are three 18-hole golf courses; the Oaks and Meadows courses play a little shorter than Skyview at Terra Vista which is the community's flagship course. These two shorter tracks are by no means pushovers; The Meadows is a par 70 that plays 5,885 yards with a course rating of 68.3 and a slope of 117, while the Oaks is also a par 70, measuring 5,863 yards (68.7/117). Head down the road and you can air it out. Skyview measures a whopping 7,090 yards from the Gold Tees. I found that the Blue/White Tees from 6,245 yards provided plenty of challenge yet allowed me to leave with a little bit of dignity still intact. While you can certainly get a good meal at any one of these courses, Crystal River has a restaurant that can't be missed, especially if you're a seafood lover. The Seafood Seller is owned by Jimmie Stoltz and his wife, Sue Gerzel. Jimmy hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has brought a little bit of that Cajun flair to the area. Sue is from Baltimore, MD, so she knows a little something about seafood too! You can order all types of seafood, everything from Louisiana crawfish to oysters, littleneck clams, and a variety of fresh fish. I went with the steamed king crab legs with Cajun seasoning, just the right amount of spice. If it swims in the water and you can eat it, the Seafood Seller has it. They also have a full liquor bar with several local and imported beers on tap. This is just a small snippet of some of the golf available in the Crystal River area.
