Contribuiți la feedbackFantastic atmosphere with friendly, smiling service. The food is delightful, and there's convenient parking right at the entrance. The open fire adds a nice touch. What more could you ask for? Highly recommend! - Nari
Next, we had a chicken and Camembert pizza that came straight from the wood-fired oven behind us. It featured a soft yet crispy crust and delightful flavors. We also shared a bowl of Belgian frites, which were exactly what we hoped for—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Finally, even though we were quite full, we were persuaded to try the waffles. We decided to order one to share, and we’re so glad we did, as they rank among the best we’ve ever tasted! The waffle was tall, with a fluffy batter that wasn’t overly sweet and a wonderfully crispy exterior—this is a rare find, as most waffles tend to be too sweet or flat, but this one was outstanding. It was served with homemade berry coulis and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, making for a fantastic combination. The Abbey at Chesters offers beautiful scenery, friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere, good food, and excellent Belgian beer. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely return!
After all the positive reviews, we were excited to try it, but unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. We were very disappointed! I’m sorry to say we won't be returning.

On Saturday, June 22nd, we visited Club 55 for a Christmas dinner in July after leaving the abbey. The atmosphere was delightful—warm and inviting, complete with an open fire. Unfortunately, the meal was far from enjoyable. I honestly can't remember the last time I had such a disappointing dining experience. The broccoli was overcooked to the point where it was unrecognizable; the meat was tough, and the mushrooms were also overcooked. The entire dish was slathered in a cold, thick gravy, and the food itself was barely warm. Most of us ended up leaving our meals untouched, which was quite disappointing. A Christmas dinner should include staples like ham, turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Instead, for dessert, we were served apple crumbs, which felt like a letdown. Overall, it was a significant letdown and a total waste of an opportunity for a festive meal.
