La Chine China Bistro - Hendersonville

The food options here are incredibly fresh and flavorful. The calamari was expertly cooked, and the tempura cauliflower was absolutely delicious. I discovered the restaurant while traveling through the area using Yelp, and I was not disappointed at all.

I ordered chicken fried rice and lo mein with vegetables. Unfortunately, the fried rice was excessively salty and didn't contain any onions or carrots—just rice and an overload of very salty chicken. The lo mein was drenched in a strange sweet sauce, so much so that it was pooling at the bottom of the container. The noodles were mushy, and all the vegetables were raw and just sitting on top. The portion size was huge—about 8 pounds of food! I really dislike wasting food, but it was inedible. The restaurant's interior had an upscale vibe, and all the reviews claimed it was good, so I was really disappointed.

I was looking for some excellent Chinese food, as options are limited in Portland, TN. While I was at my doctor's appointment, I came across this restaurant and I'm so glad I decided to give it a try! I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp lunch special, and it didn't disappoint! The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and it came with delicious fried rice and two excellent spring rolls. I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu! I highly recommend this place!

I ordered sweet and sour pork crab Rangoon receipt reflects that) and waited in my car for my order to be prepared. As my friend was waiting for me to picnic with her in Gallatin I didn’t realize my order was nothing like I had received in earlier visits.I didn’t notify the restaurant until later morning the following day as I had a full evening and the following morning. I was told that the woman who answered the phone told me she’d talk with her manager and get back with me. The woman who answered told me she was talking with her manager now. I hung up and soon got a call back from the restaurant. The same woman raised her voice at me and stated that was almost 24 hours ago and why did I wait so long to report that my order was incorrect.If they get your order wrong it’s your fault!

Decided to stop here after a doctor's appointment, the restaurant is nice looking and clean. They offer chili oil at the table and the prices on the menu are really good. They give you wonton chips at the table to eat while waiting. That's the end of the pluses, the food was all so bland. It was barely edible from the lack of seasoning even on food drowned in sauce. The dipping sauces for appetizers were also extremely bland, almost watered down tasting. Had to dump soy sauce and hot chili oil to be able to eat the food. I will not return.
