This restaurant offers an excellent dining experience at a reasonable price. The food is outstanding, earning a perfect score for its quality and flavor. The service is also top-notch, providing prompt and attentive care. Additionally, the atmosphere is inviting and enjoyable, making it a great place to relax while dining. I highly recommend trying the Cauliflower Cheese Side Dish and the Hamburger, both of which are exceptional.

I haven’t eaten here, so I can’t speak to the food, but I often stop by after work for a couple of pints. The staff is very friendly. Overall, I would rate the service and atmosphere both a 5 out of 5.

I had a nice lunch with a decent roast, but I would prefer to choose my own vegetables instead of having them served on the plate. The lamb was cooked well, and the dessert was delightful. However, the service was quite frustrating—it was very slow, and we had to remind the staff about six or seven times to bring us menus, take our orders, and clear the table. On top of that, they automatically added a £17 service charge, which we felt wasn’t justified. We decided not to pay that much and left a £10 tip, mainly because they were all very pleasant, but the service was just too slow and a bit disorganized. For a lot of years I’ve driven past this pub and been told about the exceptional food so last night I thought I would give it a tryit’s a very old pub from the 17th century with a thatched roof in a beautiful village called Hemingford abbots.when you walk in it feels like you’ve gone back in time,the service was a little slow but the staff was very friendly,eventually we got our drinks and food,I had the fish and chips with peas and tarts sauce,the fish was beautiful with homemade chunky chips my daughter had the same my wife had the steak with peppercorn sauce chips peas and mushrooms and my son just had a portion of chunky chips..it’s lovely to see proper home cooking4 people plus around of drinks came to roughly £80,you might think it’s a little expensive but for home cooking in such a beautiful pub it was worth it Parking: Lots of free street parking outside the pub Price per person: £80–90 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free street parking
