Nolla - Helsinki

Our experience at the restaurant was unfortunately not perfect, but also not the worst. Despite requesting peaceful seating, we found ourselves in a busy spot where we had to constantly move to accommodate other diners. The portions were small for the price, and my main course lacked a proper side dish which left me hungry. The food was good, but my companions' dishes were overly salty. The only positive aspect was our friendly server, although they were quite busy and we were unable to address our issues. The wine pairing was too exotic for my taste, and we were surprised at how quickly we were served and ready to leave. Overall, the food, prices, and atmosphere did not meet our expectations, and we decided not to stay for dessert. Unfortunately, I do not plan on returning to this restaurant and cannot recommend it. It was disappointing to learn afterwards that the restaurant supposedly had sustainable values and a waste-free ideology, as this was not apparent during our visit. This raises the question of misleading marketing.

This restaurant is a laid-back spot that offers delicious food along with a wide selection of wines. The staff is attentive, friendly, and accommodating to allergies. Despite visiting on a cold Tuesday night, the place was bustling, so be sure to make a reservation in advance. Out of all the places we tried during our three nights in Helsinki, this was definitely our favorite.

The restaurant had a beautifully designed interior, featuring some impressive art on the walls. The service was excellent and welcoming. However, there were times when the cutlery didn't quite match the dishes, and the music was very mainstream. The menu was a bit uneven, but there were several standout dishes, notably the burbot. The ice cream was delicious, though overly sweet in its presentation.

Had high expectations as had heard such good things about the restaurant. Unfortunately it didn’t quite meet our expectations. My friend and I, both had tasting menu with pairing wine. The food was ok but nowhere near amazing. The wines were somewhat disappointing too. All in all 3/5.

They do everything right. A must visit restaurant in Helsinki The welcoming was perfect. We were having dinner in a dat where they had switched off all lights, even at their kitchen. The menu was adapted to these conditions, and was superb. Kitchen and waiters absolutely kind with us, and providing advice for the vegan colleagues coming with us. I love the Nolla concept of serving and innovative meals.
