Bywater Oyster Grill - Helena

Given this place 2 trys and unfortunately the result was the same with poor service being the lingering taste in our mouths!

Absolutely terrible service! Can’t comment on the food because we sat there for over an hour and was never served any entre’s . I won’t be back.

The atmosphere and food were great. Our server was the best and kept us entertained as well as fed. The raw oysters are always a hit and this time the manager had us try the Bywater oysters. If you haven’t tried them, your missing out. The portions are large and you will have a hard time finishing everything.

Our server, Chris, was awesome. We had a large group but he handled our continuous drink orders and our dinner nicely. Love the Wedge Salad with shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their dinner.

Food was good, not exceptional. I had the crab cakes, they are more of the stuffing version crab cake. I liked them but prefer less stuffing. Lemon aoli was really great. Didn’t get my salad until my food arrived not sure if that’s their procedure or my waiter just forgot. Ranch does not taste like a traditional Ranch, more of a remoulade. My family loved the oyster with the jalapeño. My daughter enjoyed the shrimp and grits but was still really hungry. Not enough to fill up and adult. She also mentioned would have been better if grits had cheese like a Gouda. Will definitely go back, but not on our monthly must eat list.
