River Cafe - Heidelberg

We visited Heidelberg in late May 2017, l have been to Heidelberg quite a lot over the years due to business and decided to actually visit as a tourist and it did not disappoint.Before travelling l had googled various good restaurants to book and this one came up in the search. We actually found it by coincidence as we were exploring the city and decided to book a table, we went there that evening and were delighted with the food and pleasant service from the helpful staff. We were so impressed we book to go again the following evening and again the food was fantastic, we mentioned that we would like to thank the chef who promptly came out and talked with us for a few minutes during this conversation we discovered he was from Argentina and had lived in Heidelberg for 12 years very nice chap indeed we will definitely go again.

Cozy place with nice food but it was overpriced. We had the sweet potato and sous vide beef, which was very good, but the serving was too small and way overpriced at 19,5 euros.The staff was attentive, fast, and polite. And they spoke English.We sat with our backs to a wide window that was completely opened. This was nice because we got some fresh air in the damp evening. However, people from the restaurant kept smoking right outside into our faces. That was extremely annoying and they didn't care. The staff did nothing either.

Lovely place, one of HEidelberg's hidden gems known to the locals. Has an amazing menu between salads, antipasti, steak and daily specials. A very cute outdoor seating area just like the cafes in France. Highly recommended for drinks.

This is a great place and has a good vibe to it. Food is good and service is fine. If the weather permits one can sit out and enjoy the sun, like when I was there.

We visited the River Cafe on a whim on a Friday night and were happy we did! The menu items all sounded good and every dish we saw leave the kitchen (including ours) looked really good. The ingredients were fresh and of good quality. Our meal was excellent, as was the dessert.Compliments to the chef, especially for the sauce on the veal dish we had, it was amazing! It was our first trip, but it won't be our last. ;)
