Papi Bar Cafe Restaurant - Heidelberg

We were at the weekend there, eating was really good, but the service was not very efficient and a little slow, we needed about 30 minutes to get the food.

We enjoyed our dinner in papi. we both took some bark that was absolutely delicious. only negative point is that the restaurant is rather small and therefore feels somewhat overcrowded.

Therefore I write this review in English so that it is read by the great majority of people: if they want to spend a good time, they simply stay away from this restaurant and go to another. to the time I live in heidelberg, so I am not a tourist at all, but I have the pity to be born as a french and therefore have great difficulties to deal with German. and the waiter who visited me and my family for a weekend looked this and used it simply. they can't imagine a bad waiter for their good family time. I've made an online reservation that didn't work. but that could not have been a problem if we hadn't waited. an hour and a half. to our. teller. no explanation. that is both disrespectful to the customers and totally harmful to this restaurant where "please give us a good note on trip advisor" is written everywhere. So no, I'm sorry, I don't give them any good notes with the way we were treated with my family. I had to ask twice, "What's the problem? there's a problem"? because the waiter has not even made the effort to come to us and tell us that there has been a problem with our order. When I first asked, the waiter didn't even look at me right and answered me very quickly in German, although I obviously couldn't flow that everything was in order. we had waited for fifty minutes. After an hour I asked again "excuse me, there is obviously a problem that we would like to eat" and we really thought about leaving this restaurant. the waiter replied, "Oh yes, there was a problem, we forgot a court, so we waited to bring them all at once." beautiful. I even had to ask brot to wait. we got our dishes that, I have to admit, were absolutely delicious. we waited for our cheerful one and a half hours, but our table was clean within 5 minutes, although we were not completely finished yet. And then we went to pay: no reduction, not even an apologies. And the waiter, the same, very fies and clear, he didn't care, just told us casually that the CB reader was broken there and we had to pay cash. Okay, they just say they need to inform their customers from the start. So we went to take cash, came back and then, this, made waiter. we, wait. Fifteen. protocol. So if they don't want to be respected as a customer, but only as a human, I ask them, there are much better and nicer people in this beautiful city and thus much better restaurants.

Most disappointing. After I have lived in italia for years, I live from time to time for real Italian food. the website and restaurant itself promised more. I was really disappointed. the pizze were only average and the pasta dishes were just... bad. dayliatelle boiled, sauce was mixed. the price? if that was good, I wouldn't complain. for this quality of eating and service it was a complete scrap!

4 of us (2 couples) spent 4 nice days in heidelberg. we had two lunch and two dinners in papi’s and were not disappointed. the food was excellent and the wein also. paulo and his team worked effortlessly to ensure that we enjoyed our evenings and the young, busy staff at midday gave us an excellent service. would in any case go back there again at a visit. the pizzas look thick but are light and very, very tasty.
