Giardino - Heidelberg

We were taken to this restaurant by friends who live in HD-Weststadt. It was excellent. The food was great, as was the wine and the waiter was worth the entrance fee alone Fantastic evening here. We will return.

You can't get closer to a neighborhood Italian place than Giardino. That said, the food is MORE than neighborhood! I love my favorite pizza with rucola and mozzarella, always ask for lots of rucola and something spicy. I could eat this every day! I've tried lots of other dishes, I find them superb! The cook comes out to see if everyone is happy and the head waiter tells fantastic jokes! A choice of wines top off the experience. It's worth the trip out of the inner city to escape the tourists and feel like a resident.

Our first choice for rustic and gourmet Italian food in Heidelberg. Try their pizza or fish, outside seating is very nice in the summer but make sure to get a reservation.
