Contribuiți la feedbackWe stopped off at the Tavern Cafe for lunch and It was amazing. This little quiet place off a country road in Heathsville Is a local treasure. All their breads are homemade from scratch! We had a slice of almond brioche with zucchini minestrone. We had to also try blueberry scones.... buttery, light, dreamy. Yes, they have coffee! Did I mention the pies? Amazingly delicious ???? and I will be back for the food and also, to shop! Over 30 artisans display their work and it’s all for sale!!!! There is also a working forge, quilting, wood working, jewelry making....you need to go and see! Taste local! Support local!
The Service was excellent very quiet spot where u could enjoy a scrumptious meal pleasant environment will return soon
I have passed by this place for months thinking, I should check this out sometime. Well, I finally did and could KICK myself for not doing it sooner! I bit hidden, but easy, ample parking, cute decor with nice table settings but oh my goodness the food! We were all talking about it several days later. Favorites? The collard green egg rolls with honey mustard dipping sauce, the sweet potato biscuits w/ ham and the crab cakes. Now, I make muffins from scratch and they 're pretty good , if I say so myself. But somehow, these are just that much better. When I asked what they put in the muffins that made them so yummy, Alva just smiled and said, It 's the love! I 'm torn between wanting to tell everyone and not telling anyone so that it can be my own little culinary piece of paradise. One downside: It 's only open on Friday 's and Saturday 's for breakfast and lunch but I hear they 'll be adding some additional weekdays after Dec. 1.
The food and service is great!
