Two sticks - Haymarket

My friends and I have been a few times for lunch as we work close by. The braised chicken noodle soup is the only thing I have ordered and it is delicious! Served with the noodles on the side and a hot pot that you put the noodles into. Highly recommend! At $13.80 I thought it was well priced.There is usually a line up so suggest you get there early at lunch time. They also only take cash not card.

We came here for late lunch on May 9, 2017. We had Spicy Pork Ear with Chilli dressing as our appetiser.My husband ordered Yunnan Signature Rice Noodle Soup or as they call it 'Crossing the Bridge Noodles', is as the name suggests, their signature dish.I ordered Mushroom Rice Noodle Soup, assortment of mushrooms with chicken slices, lotus roots and other things.The wait staff bring out a tray containing the ceramic pot with soup, bowl of noodles with beansprouts and shredded bean curd,Then the rest is left to your discretion on what and how much you want to add the noodles to the pot. The noodles is super smooth and goes well with the soup broth.

There are thousands of asian restaurants in Sydney. I am fond of many of them. But definitely not Two Sticks. It's frustrating that they could not provide a general seafood dish from their menu because of unavailability. Then I choose something else. My friend wanted a water bottle, she ended up not getting it. Reasons we don't know. After our lunch we went to the counter. We asked for a splitting bill. They denied and we had to pay together.

The 3 of us got a spicy chicken pieces, eggplant (which was SUPER spicy), and a beef noodle soup. we thought it would make a nice pre-dinner snack but we were pretty full after. the chicken and soup were amazing! because we went during off hours (at 4:30) some staff was sleeping/resting in the booths which didn't bother us. there are 2 floors and the upstairs was more open with booths versus the more crowded downstairs tables. good location.

Mostly broths with meat. Starters of bean curd salad and chicken bites great. Mini cauldrons of boiling broth brought to table with a plate of the freshest rice noodles that you pour in yourself. All tables come with a ladle and chopsticks as the place setting. Filling!
