Maloney's Hotel - Haymarket

Good pub grub in the middle of Sydney. Price was reasonable and the meal size what you would expect in a capital city. All meals came out at the same time (8 of them) and no one complained about any being cold. Nothing stood out about the meals. It has both table seats in the restaurant type area, or u can sit in the bar area. Order at the counters, get a buzzer then pick up your meals. Pub itself is nice and very relax, nothing pretentious about the place. Not sure it is commonplace but pints of Toohey's New at $8.50 was a bonus.

The whole bar stank of bleach and 40% of the beer taps were XXXX. Fortunately there were some outside tables to escape this hellhole.

I visited the restaurant on Tuesday, May 23rd. I ordered a parmy, but it was overcooked and dry. Overall, the meal was nothing special. I don't think I'll be returning next time I'm in Sydney.

This was a good place for drinks with friends. I found it unpretentious and friendly with some good wines available. There were lots of couches, chaise longues and armchairs as well as standard pub barstools and other types of seating so that was a bonus.

Great meal, beef Guinness pie at very good prices,friendly helpful staff, nice cold Guinness. Relaxed atmosphere
