George - Hayfield

We were pleased to find a recently redecorated, immaculate, and spacious en suite room equipped with snacks, beverage makers, and personal toiletries. Although we didn’t use it, the room also featured a Jacuzzi tub. Back in the dining room, we indulged in a delicious meal prepared by the chef and owner, and served by our charming hosts. After dinner, we retired to a comfortably large bed and enjoyed a restful night’s sleep. The next morning, we treated ourselves to a satisfying traditional English breakfast before bidding farewell to our hosts. One piece of advice: this place is not very much of a secret, so it's best to make advance bookings!

This pub hotel is located in the heart of Hayfield, making it an ideal spot for both tourists and locals. We dined here early on Saturday evening. The menu offers a decent variety of options, along with a few specials. The prices were quite affordable; my husband opted for a Greek lamb dish while I had a small steak with chips and salad. The food was fairly average, but the prices were fair. The decor is a bit worn, which seems to be common in Hayfield. There’s an outdoor beer garden, but we didn’t get a chance to see it, so I can't comment on that.
