Joan's Pantry - HAWTHORNDENE

Service was great, many food options. We had cake and coffee which were locally baked delights and absolutely delicious especially when combined with good coffee.

Beautiful location. Across the road from Hawthorndene Oval where there's usually dogs playing, next to a walking track along Minno Creek. Very nice indoor and outdoor seating areas. Good place to meet friends. Food and coffee quality is variable. It's often very crowded and sometimes a long wait for your order.

Had the opportunity to revisit Joan's Pantry for lunch - what a wonderful relaxed family occasion it was, sitting in the open air under the verandah enjoying the winter sunshine and the sheer ambience of the place. So many people passing by, some stopping, some just walking abut in the beautiful near city park environment.We had a variety of burgers and hot dogs and similar easy lunch food, coupled to fresh drinks, really great way to enjoy Hawthorndene, Blackwood and South Australia's winter sunshine. Highly recommended cafe and restaurant (evening meals) and budget priced for what you get.

Nice spot to enjoy a great breakfast. Will return soon. Friendly staff make dining a pleasant experience.

I ordered a large Latte in a mug and raisin toast. For $7 the raisin toast was a rip off, as was two very small stale slices of thin fruit toast. To make matters worse the coffee mug was also small and equivalent to a normal cup size in other cafes. A complete waste of $11.20
