Oushou （hawthorn East）japanese Sushi Sashimi Sake

I highly recommend trying out this Japanese restaurant right across from Rivoli Cinema. My visit was quite enjoyable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We opted for the Ohsho Tasting Menu, which was $54 per person and included a variety of dishes: the Entree Kaiseki, Assorted Nigiri Sashimi, Eye Fillet Steak, and Salmon Saikyoyaki. I particularly loved the Scallop Cocktail and Assorted Nigiris, but I found the mains to be somewhat average. They weren’t bad, just not quite as impressive as the entries and second dishes. On the bright side, the eye fillet steak was tender and juicy, and the homemade mayo teriyaki sauce served with it was outstanding. Overall, it was a good experience, but I felt the tasting menu didn’t quite justify the price. It’s a shame because the quality of the Sashimi and Nigiri hinted that there was potential for something much better. I believe they could have emphasized the nigiri and sashimi, which were the highlights of the meal, rather than the mains. Perhaps a swap for their rolls would be more fitting? Next time, I plan to return to try their renowned Osho Rolls and Deluxe Sushi Sashimi Platter, which would be around $70—much more reasonable compared to the $110 tasting menu.

We had a wonderful experience at Ohsho, where the Japanese cuisine impressed us. We particularly enjoyed the sukiyaki beef, although I personally would have preferred it to be a bit sweeter. The service was excellent, and the overall value was fantastic!

I went out for dinner with a friend, and the sashimi platter was exceptionally fresh and delightful. The seafood had a lovely sweet aftertaste.

Dined here for the first time this Friday night. Quick easy reservation through Zomato, polite staff. Came here for a few quick dishes before the movies. Was reasonably priced, service was friendly and efficient, and flavours were fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend!
