The Royal Standard - Hastings

Brilliant homely roast. Will be returning for a meal soon. Pity about the bar selection, could have been a lot better. The pub itself is like a tardis. Way bigger than you expect and room outside for alfresco dinning.

This place is a gem. The staff are helpful and friendly, the real ale was kept very well and the Pizzas looked so good we had to return the following day and weren’t disappointed. The Chefs (I assume a couple) took pride in their food and were we here longer we’d have definitely had the Sunday roast too. I’m picky, fussy and don’t generally give reviews let alone rave reviews but this place despite appearance is well worth a visit on all fronts. Excellent!!!!!

Whatever you do have a pizza, proper hand pulled wood fired job with loads of great toppings at a ridiculously reasonable price. The stuffed paratha (with Mediterranean fillings was also exceptional. Bar staff friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. This has got to be a definite visit!

On another weekend break in Hastings we booked Sunday lunch as last time it was so good. Roast lamb and the nut roast served with generous vegetables, Yorkshire puds and separate gravy. All delicious. A lovely friendly vibe to this local pub and highly recommended.

Wonderful afternoon with a delicious Sunday roast, roaring fire, friendly folk and the bonus of a live reggae music band. A proper local pub with great staff, reasonably priced drinks and clearly a favourite in Hastings.
